Ferret
Progressive Metal
Starting as a spicy jam session in a Birkirkara garage, Ferret's original recipe features Anthony, Marco Ramunno, and Ben Joslin, who bonded over their love for prog rock flavours at an Aristocrats gig in Razzett L Ahmar. Their musical chemistry sizzled, cooking up riffs and songs that became fan favourites like "Hernia Through the Grapevine," "Ants in My Eyes Johnson," and "Open the Potato.”
Debuting at Sickfest 2016 with a saucy rendition of The Simpsons theme, Ferret quickly became a staple on the local scene, serving up savoury performances at Prog the Islands. With Ben Mifsud Joslin's departure in 2017, Owen brought in his jazzy bass spices, adding a fresh, funky twist to the mix.
Mark Andrew Azzopardi joined in 2018, bringing his intense prog chops to the table, turning up the heat at gigs like Rock the South 2018 and Prog the Islands. The band continued to marinate their sound, culminating in a breakthrough 2019 with performances at Rock The South, Beerfest, and supporting Dream Theatre.
After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, Ferret reunited in 2022, simmering their old recipes and cooking up new ones. Now, with a flavourful EP on the horizon, they're ready to serve the world once again.
